This book is definitely worth a read, and it is extremely well researched. This is such a sweet, lovely, and tender story. Just as he begins to feel like family, his long, lost mother shows up and attempts to win him back. But that doesn't detract from the book at all, it just adds shock value although it's fair to say a book as shocking and twist-y as Hollywood Sinners wasn't exactly lacking in shock value before then.
